Heavy Equipment Operator

Reeves | Heavy Equipment Operator - Brunswick, GA Reeves Construction Company, a subsidiary of Colas USA, is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator in Brunswick, GA. Responsibilities Basic knowledge of machine mechanics and hydraulics. Conduct inspection checklists on equipment (lights, brakes, fuel, oil, water). Ensure equipment is serviced, lubricated, and maintained in good working order, including good housekeeping. Operate control levers for bucket movement and vehicle safely at job sites. Prioritize safety and welfare of workers during trench and pipelaying operations. Understand different soil types relevant to operation. Follow company policies and procedures at all times. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and experience. Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Application of common sense and problem‑solving skills in standardized situations. Physical Demands and Work Environment Climb onto and off machine several times daily. Sit in machine and operate it for extended periods. Withstand vibration, noise, and repetitive hand, arm, and foot motions. Perform manual duties such as moving paint drums; lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Maintain 20/40 vision and good hearing; corrective lenses acceptable. Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, moist or humid conditions, and high noise levels.
