Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Certifications: CPR certification required prior to the first day

Must-Have: Experience with IVs, PICC lines, mediports, and central lines

Description:
The facility is a skilled nursing and long-term care environment.
The unit has a mix of long-term and skilled residents with a total of 60 beds.
Private rooms are available for each resident.
The electronic medical record system in use is Point Click Care.
The nurse-to-patient ratio for RNs is 1:15.
The nurse-to-patient ratio for CNAs is 1:10.
Common diagnoses include inability to care for self, sepsis, femur fractures, NSTEMI, chronic kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and urinary tract infections.
Nursing duties include passing medications, wound care, foley catheter care, PEG tube feedings, ostomy care, and tracheostomy care.
RNs will manage IVs, PICC lines, mediports, and other central lines.
This unit does not have tele monitors, and RNs are not required to read strips.
There is always a charge nurse and nursing leadership present in the facility.
Physicians are available to be contacted 24/7 for after-hours concerns.
An interdisciplinary team is present on-site, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social services, case managers, dieticians, pharmacists, and medical records staff.
Respiratory therapy is not available on-site 24/7.
Pharmacy services are provided through a medication dispensing system, with a pharmacist on-site.
Shifts are scheduled based on facility needs, with mandatory adherence to every other weekend shifts.
Employee dress code for RNs is navy blue scrubs, while CNAs wear gray scrub pants with any printed top.
There is no separate COVID unit, though enhanced droplet precautions are in place for COVID-19.
N95 masks are utilized, and COVID vaccination is not required for staff.
