Test Technician - 2nd shift

Job Description The Test Technician is responsible for being a key contributor to our overall testing team. Working both with internal and external customers, this role includes the physical setup of dynamometer systems and customer test parts. Test parts are generally automotive in nature but may also be associated with other industries. Test technicians work with test engineers to bring testing systems together and support operations. The role requires the ability to manage tasks and assignments across multiple areas and demonstrates initiative and ownership of responsibilities. Responsibilities Support engineers and customers when needed Set up test cells Assemble automotive propulsion systems Clean and organize test cells and facilities Build oil conditioning carts Fabricate and/or machine fixtureings Maintain workspace cleanliness (shop, trash cans, fab room) Keep cells running after shop hours Maintain shop inventory Support troubleshooting efforts Perform other duties as requested Assist in supporting the UTAC culture and values (Integrity, Expertise, and Innovation) Qualifications High school degree or equivalent experience 2+ years of relevant work experience in the automotive (or other propulsion) industry preferred Fluency in the English language required Demonstrated record of driving results Strong problem‑solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills Ability to relay technical information clearly Consistent attendance and ability to work required hours Reliable vehicle for traveling between multiple work sites as needed Valid driver’s license Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally Strong interpersonal and communication skills for all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other systems (Concur, Kronos, etc.) Flexibility to support service activity off‑site and outside normal working hours Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area Working knowledge of the automotive industry preferred Experience in vehicle testing and validation industry preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong time management, multi‑tasking, and organizational skills Team‑oriented, cooperative attitude toward team goals Adherence to UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulations Recommended to own a basic automotive tool set Strong attention to detail Exceptional work ethic and positive attitude Self‑starter capable of multitasking with strong communication skills Physical Requirements Exposure to industry‑accepted chemicals and noise Regular standing, reaching, bending, and moving around the facility Ability to lift and/or move materials as needed for assigned duties Includes standing, walking, sitting, twisting, bending, seeing, speaking, hearing Occasional travel may be required (local, national, international) Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
