Key Responsibilities Assist in implementing and monitoring infection control policies and procedures across the facility Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with infection prevention standards Educate staff, patients, and visitors on infection control practices and protocols Collect and analyze data related to infection rates and report findings to the infection control team Support outbreak investigations and participate in infection prevention initiatives Maintain accurate documentation of infection control activities and incidents Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update infection control strategies Skills and Qualifications Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing Prior experience in infection control, healthcare, or related field preferred Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards and best practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports Attention to detail and high level of organizational skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and protocols We offer a supportive work environment that values continuous learning and professional growth. Requirements Required/Desired Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or related field strongly preferred. Graduate from an accredited Nursing program. Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse & CPR Certification Five years of experience as an LPN; one year of experience in an infection control position strongly preferred. Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control. Knowledge of federal and state infection control regulations. Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities: Ability to work with people with physical and mental disabilities, including those using profanity, derogatory language and the like. Specialty training in Infection Prevention and Control through accredited continuing education Must be nationally certified in Infection Prevention and Control by NADONA (IP-BC Credential) or completed APIC EPI Intensive Training for Long Term Care, or Certified in Infection Control through Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC). Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Other Special Requirements: Tolerate potential exposure to blood, body tissues, and fluids with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
