Ovolifts, LLC is a Houston-based engineering and equipment company specializing in oil and gas infrastructure maintenance, piping systems, and field support services. We are seeking a hands-on Field Operations Specialist to serve as the primary link between our engineering capabilities and our customers' project sites.

This role combines fieldwork, customer engagement, project planning, and warehouse operations — ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and takes pride in building lasting professional relationships.

You will conduct on-site assessments along the Gulf Coast and beyond, translate field conditions into actionable project plans, and provide training and consulting support to customers during active projects. Between deployments, you will maintain our equipment inventory, organize the warehouse, and ensure tools and materials are field-ready at all times.

This is not a desk job. The right candidate is someone who is comfortable in steel-toed boots on a job site one day and coordinating logistics from the warehouse the next.

Responsibilities

Field Operations & Site Support

• Conduct site visits to collect measurements, assess conditions, and document project requirements for oil and gas piping and infrastructure maintenance projects
• Conceptualize and develop preliminary project plans based on field data, collaborating with engineering staff to refine scope and deliverables
• Provide on-site support including operator training, technical consulting, and hands-on guidance during equipment installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities
• Ensure all field activities comply with site-specific safety requirements and industry standards (OSHA, API, ASME)
• Coordinate with customer site personnel, contractors, and Ovolifts engineering teams to maintain project alignment and resolve field issues in real time

Customer Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts during active projects
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customer operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel
• Communicate project status, field findings, and recommendations clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for additional Ovolifts services and communicate leads to the sales team

Logistics, Warehouse & Equipment

• Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites using company vehicles
• Perform routine inspection, cleaning, calibration checks, and basic maintenance on field tools and equipment
• Maintain organized warehouse inventory, including receiving, cataloging, and staging equipment for upcoming projects
• Ensure the warehouse and tool storage areas remain clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards
• Track tool and equipment condition, flagging items that require repair or replacement

Travel

• Travel extensively along the Gulf Coast of the United States for project deployments, typically lasting anwhere between one day to several weeks.
• Domestic travel to other U.S. states as project needs dictate, with deployments of up to two weeks at a time
• International travel required for up to 10% of the year as needed to support overseas projects and client engagements

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Technical certification, associate degree, or vocational training in a relevant discipline (e.g., industrial technology, mechanical technology, welding, pipefitting, instrumentation, or related field)
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial infrastructure environments
• Working knowledge of piping systems, general industrial equipment, and field measurement techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and isometric sketches
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort performing basic tool maintenance and troubleshooting
• Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships with customers and project stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (50+ lbs regularly, 75+ lbs occasionally) and work in physically demanding field conditions including heat and elevated work areas
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Willingness to travel domestically (Gulf Coast and beyond) and internationally (up to 10% annually)
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
• Must be eligible to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card

Preferred

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial management, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in oil and gas field operations, pipeline maintenance, or facility turnaround environments
• Prior experience in a customer-facing field specialist, technical representative, or foreman role
• Familiarity with ASME, API, and OSHA standards applicable to oil and gas piping and infrastructure
• Experience with field measurement and documentation tools (laser measurement, digital calipers, survey equipment)
• Valid passport for international travel
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus for Gulf Coast and Latin American project support
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
