Step into a rewarding contract role supporting elementary students’ literacy development as a Reading Specialist on a full-time basis. This position offers the chance to expertly guide young learners across K-8 and work closely with school teams to design impactful lessons. With two immediate openings, you’ll play a key part in helping students near Philadelphia achieve reading success in a supportive, hands-on environment.
In this onsite role, you will:
- Work a consistent 35-hour week from now until June 10, 2027.
- Dive into elementary and K-8 caseloads, delivering tailored instruction to diverse groups.
- Create innovative, standards-aligned lesson plans that promote differentiated learning and continuous formative assessment.
- Utilize your reading specialist expertise and instructional materials to help all learners progress.
- Apply strong classroom and behavioral management skills to foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with colleagues and adapt to the dynamic needs of an urban school setting.
- Ensure compliance with all Pennsylvania clearance requirements.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid and active PA teaching certification/licensure.
- Reading Specialist certification (required).
- Demonstrated school-based experience, specifically in similar K-8 or elementary roles.
- Proven ability working with diverse student populations in urban environments.
- Reliable transportation for daily onsite responsibilities.
- Flexibility and comfort working within district expectations and locations.
- Mastery of reading instruction, assessment, and differentiation strategies.
