Location- Cincinnati area( Hybrid role) Job Description:
Seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA). As a SQL Server DBA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of the organizations' SQL Server databases. Key Responsibilities:
• Define and enforce database standards and policies, including schema design, indexing, and naming conventions.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database design, creation, and testing, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Implement high-availability solutions such as clustering and replication.
• Utilize performance monitoring tools to identify and address bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Optimize tables, indexes, and queries to achieve peak database performance.
• Manage database partitions and filegroups for efficient data storage.
• Develop and implement event triggers using SQL Server Agent for proactive monitoring of database performance and integrity.
• Execute regular maintenance tasks, including database tuning, query optimization, and index rebuilding.
• Implement data compression and archiving strategies for effective data management.
• Utilize SQL Server Profiler and Extended Events to monitor usage, transaction volumes, response times, and concurrency levels.
• Analyze and optimize execution plans for resource-intensive queries.
• Implement role-based security models and conduct regular security audits.
• Manage encryption for sensitive data and maintain compliance with security standards.
• Configure and maintain regular database backups and implement recovery procedures.
• Optimize storage allocation and implement storage tiering strategies.
Additional Skills (Icing on the Cake):
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data integration. Qualifications:
• 5+ years of proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server internals, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of database security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with ETL leveraging SSIS is strongly preferred.
