Business Controller For Road Guard Entity

GeoStabilization International® (GSI) is hiring a Business Controller focused on our Road Guard entity in the Western US. This is not just a steward of financial accuracy, but a strategic thinker capable of scaling systems, developing people, and driving insight through operational data. This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of our finance operations—responsible for guiding the accounting team, owning technical accounting, and partnering cross-functionally with leaders across the business.

This hire is crucial to supporting GSI's ongoing growth, including post-acquisition integrations, internal control maturation, and continuous margin-focused decision making.

Responsibilities

• Take a hands-on role in the project controls, project review and related processes in conjunction with the operations leaders.
• Key advisor to operations leadership related to leading and trending indicators to improve company performance
• Lead and continuously improve all core accounting functions: month-end close, GL management, audits, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Conduct and guide technical accounting research, documentation, and policy update.
• Oversee accounting execution for complex transaction cycles and key accounts
• Serve as a lead partner in the integration of acquired entities into GSI's financial systems
• Collaborate with FP&A and operational leaders on cashflow, budgeting, forecasting margin tracking, and financial accuracy by project
• Support tax planning and compliance in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
• Drive automation and system improvements to streamline the month-end close process
• Prepare key reporting for executive decision making and board visibility

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Demonstrated process and systems development experience.
• Ability to travel occasionally along the Western US and to our HQ in Westminster, CO
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Deep proficiency in Excel and comfort with financial systems

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Experience running a complete month-end close cycle
• Prior use of Vista by Viewpoint
• Background in public accounting or fast-scaling private companies
• Hands-on experience with M&A integration

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule. Employees will be expected to work in the Westminster office with travel in the Western US as needed.

The expected base pay range for this position is $90,000-130,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
