Position Summary

The Campus Aide provides coverage and support to students, classrooms, and other spaces across multiple grade levels (PK3 through 6th grade) throughout the school day.
This position ensures consistent learning environments by maintaining routines and fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Supporting Learning Environments 

• Manage behavior and maintain a positive learning environment consistent with Lee’s mission.
• Serve as a substitute in a classroom when another staff member is absent
• Supervise students in classrooms, cafeterias, playgrounds and other areas as needed. 
• Be flexible to move between classrooms according to Lee’s needs.
• Support school events and other instructional activities as assigned.
• Prepare and reset the Montessori classroom environment and curricular materials daily to maximize student learning.
• Discuss observations with the appropriate teaching staff.
• Take attendance and input daily into an online record-keeping system, as well as other record-keeping as required.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with other staff members in a positive, supportive atmosphere.
• Work independently and as a team member to provide quality programming.
• Attend and contribute to all employee training sessions, supervision meetings, and staff meetings.
• Regularly read all organizational and campus-specific communications daily, responding when necessary.
  

Additional Responsibilities

• Assists with administrative tasks as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Possess some knowledge of student development principles and developmentally appropriate educational practices.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with staff, parents, and students positively and constructively.
• Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with children and adults
• Strong organization, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficient or willing to learn Google Suite and related software as required for recordkeeping and documentation.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Previous experience working with children is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the classroom and outdoor spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time. 
• Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
