Security Officer: Cheniere Sabine Pass/Port Arthur Area

Job Summary: Under limited supervision, the Security Officer provides security and protection of work site(s), personnel and assets at the assigned job site. Enforces safety measures, performs regular patrols of assigned premises, and responds to incidents based on established operational procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of prior security, military or law enforcement experience
• Formal education or training may substitute required experience
• Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation to/from the work site
• Driver's license preferred
• Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain
• Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC) or able to obtain
• Must successfully complete a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and a post-offer physical

Essential Functions:

• Provide customer service to the client by carrying out safety and security procedures
• Understand and execute post orders including enforcement of client and company policies
• May perform access control functions
• Operate gate traffic barriers
• Conduct screening/searches of vehicles and persons
• Monitor traffic and parking areas
• Guard property against damage, fire, theft, and illegal or unauthorized entry
• Conduct regular and random patrols
• Display courteous, respectful and professional interactions
• May operate and monitor CCTV equipment
• May be asked to perform rescue functions
• Respond to incidents and critical situations
• Effectively communicate using a two-way radio or telephone
• Interview people to detect infringements and investigate disturbances
• Report irregularities to management
• Write Daily Activity Reports and/or Incident Reports
• Assist management and law enforcement officials in emergency situations
• Maintain high standards for work areas and appearance
• Comply with established dress code/uniform requirements
• Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professionalism
• Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety and operational procedures
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours
• Attend company/job required training programs
• May perform responsibilities of a Lead Security Officer or Sergeant
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Working Environment: The employee will be required to work in a confined workspace such as a security guard post or patrol vehicle for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to work day or night shifts as required. The majority of the work is performed in an industrial setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

Physical Demands: The employee's work requires routine walking, standing, sitting, bending, pushing and/or pulling, and carrying items up to 50 lbs. Candidates will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-employment physical.
