Job Description

The Dietary Cook plays a vital role in preparing nutritious meals primarily for inpatient settings within a small team of 1-5 cooks. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, the cook ensures adherence to dietary requirements and maintains high standards of kitchen safety and sanitation while working regular night shifts.

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to prescribed recipes and dietary guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen
• Follow recipe adherence to meet patient nutritional needs
• Ensure kitchen safety protocols are strictly observed
• Properly store food to prevent contamination and spoilage
• Control portion sizes to meet diet specifications

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in food preparation
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene practices
• Understanding of menu planning and kitchen equipment operation
• Strong time management and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and basic nutrition knowledge
