CNC Engineer

MUST HAVE: 5+yrs of Swiss CNC Programming Experience/machining environment Experience programming Swiss-style CNC machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Tornos, Nomura, Hanwha - or similar equipment. Experience w/ CAM software Associate's or Bachelors's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered. Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Swiss CNC Programming Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for Swiss-style turning centers used in the production of high-precision machined components. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming expertise, a deep understanding of precision machining principles, and a commitment to continuous improvement, quality, and operational excellence. The Swiss CNC Programming Engineer will collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Customer teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, superior product quality, and on-time delivery performance. CNC Programming & Process Development Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for Swiss-type lathes using CAM software and machine-side programming. Develop complete manufacturing processes for new and existing products, including tooling selection, machining strategies, and cycle time optimization. Interpret customer drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and engineering models to develop robust manufacturing solutions. Support new product launches through process development, validation, and production readiness activities. Establish setup documentation, tooling lists, work instructions, and process standards. Manufacturing Engineering Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to improve productivity, quality, and machine utilization. Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to reduce cycle times, increase throughput, and minimize scrap. Collaborate with production personnel to improve setup efficiency and process repeatability. Evaluate and implement new cutting tools, workholding methods, and machining technologies. Support machine capability studies and process validation activities. Quality & Compliance Ensure machining processes consistently meet customer specifications and quality requirements. Work closely with Quality Engineers and Inspectors to address nonconformances and customer concerns. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives. Utilize SPC and process capability data to monitor and improve manufacturing performance. Support ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements. Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, and process standardization. Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects. Identify opportunities for automation and manufacturing efficiency improvements. Develop best practices for machining complex and tight-tolerance components. Technical Support Provide technical guidance and support to CNC setup personnel, operators, and manufacturing teams. Assist with training on programming standards, machining techniques, and process improvements. Support quoting activities through cycle time development and manufacturability assessments. Collaborate with customers and engineering teams regarding machining feasibility and design optimization. Qualifications Required: Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 5 years of Swiss CNC programming experience in a precision machining environment. Advanced experience programming Swiss-style CNC machines such as Citizen, Star, Tsugami, Tornos, Nomura, Hanwha, or similar equipment. Experience with CAM software such as Esprit, Mastercam or similar software. Strong understanding of multi-axis machining, live tooling, sub-spindles, and complex Swiss machining operations. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T. Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, materials, and machining processes. Experience troubleshooting machining processes and optimizing cycle times. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing documentation systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
