Medical Director, Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Overview The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is looking for an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to help lead the division of pediatric cardiac intensive care at AdventHealth for Children. Responsibilities • Further growth of the Cardiac ICU program aligned with our growing surgical program. • Mentor CICU physicians. • Develop quality improvement processes and standardize care. • Engage stakeholders within the hospital and the community. • Clinical time will be exclusively in the CICU accounting for 80% of the time commitment, with 20% dedicated to leadership activity. Requirements At least five years’ experience post fellowship Preferred experience leading a Cardiac Critical Care group or division Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Critical Care Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship or Cardiology Fellowship (preferred but not required) Strong communication skills Team player mentality Practice Description Occurrence-based malpractice coverage Paid leave days CME days and allowance 403(b) retirement plan Health insurance for physician and family Relocation allowance Hospital Description The Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full‑service tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 35 pediatric ICU beds including a dedicated pediatric CICU, a 102‑bed NICU, a 17‑bed pediatric emergency department, and a statewide pediatric network and transport system. The cardiac ICU is a 15‑bed, state‑of‑the‑art unit with an anticipated 250 cases this year and also supports interventional cardiology and electrophysiology critical care services. There is a separate 22‑bed pediatric ICU with its own leadership. The hospital offers a pediatric residency program with twelve residents per year and clinical research opportunities.
