The Lead Teacher is responsible for general classroom management and supervision. This includes assisting with planning and implementing activities for children that stress physical, social, and emotional growth. He/She will assist with the personal care, hygiene, and positive discipline of the children and will help maintain classroom records, cleanliness, and order. A high standard of ethical and moral conduct has given our parents expectations of our staff to be honest, reliable, hard-working people who provide first-class service. Create, manage and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. Participate collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the center, and collective/individual interest of its staff. Lead Teacher Responsibilities:

Observe, see, hear, and respond to children’s needs, emergencies, and conflicts that might occur in a classroom, on playground, in bathrooms, or common areas
-- Able to lift up to 30 pounds
-- Able to communicate (stoop and bend) with the child on their level
-- Able to stand on feet for long periods of time, at least 95% of the day
-- Assist children with their personal hygiene and cleanup of classroom
-- Meet with parents, staff, and administration
-- Attend staff meetings, in-house training, and other center functions, etc., as requested by the director
-- Adhere to 1st Start Child Development Center Health and Safety procedures
-- Familiarity with state licensing and 1st Start Child Development operational policies

-- Assist the Director whenever necessary

-- Exhibit room control at all times

-- Assume responsibility to be a professional at all times

-- Speak professionally at all times
