Production Planner

The Production Planner / Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer demand, inventory targets, and operational capacity. This individual will work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, and engineering teams to proactively resolve constraints, improve efficiency, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments and internal performance metrics.
• Monitor work orders and production progress, adjusting schedules to address changes in demand, material availability, or capacity constraints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, engineering, and quality to resolve production and delivery challenges.
• Analyze raw material usage trends and support forecasting efforts to ensure continuity of supply.
• Partner with procurement to coordinate timely ordering and availability of raw materials and critical components.
• Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks, quality issues, and scheduling conflicts to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Support inventory management initiatives, ensuring appropriate stock levels while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
• Utilize ERP systems to maintain accurate production data, track performance, and generate reports.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, scheduling accuracy, and overall operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to lean manufacturing efforts focused on waste reduction, cost control, and process optimization.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of proven experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (experience with planning, inventory, and work order management modules required).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Experience with Plex ERP or similar manufacturing ERP platforms.
• Background in metalworking, machining, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, JIT concepts, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $85,000
