Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM, 2 out of 3 weekends, block scheduling available.

The Registered Nurse manages, organizes, and administers nursing care for patients of all ages under the supervision of the Physician, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as internal policies.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs based on age and development.
• Report and document all observed symptoms, reactions, and changes in patients' conditions.
• Utilize the nursing process to direct and deliver patient care, including the development and evaluation of care plans.
• Administer medications following the "Five Rights of Medication Administration".
• Provide education to patients and families that is appropriate for their age and learning abilities.
• Create and maintain a comfortable and safe environment for patients, families, and visitors.
• Organize and prioritize daily assignments to provide optimal patient care.
• Demonstrate annual competency in assigned areas of work.
• Maintain patient and employee confidentiality at all times.
• Comply with the Code of Conduct.
• For those serving as Charge Nurse: Assign staff, coach staff for problem-solving, identify performance improvement opportunities, and respond to emergencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.N.), Associate's degree (A.D.N.), or Diploma from an accredited nursing college.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (for RNs assigned to Obstetrics).
• Must have Labor and Delivery experience.
