QA/QC Specialist

Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) is a renewable energy company operating over 30 utility‑scale wind, solar, and storage projects across the United States. We are seeking a Wind Turbine Operations Specialist to support safe and efficient wind turbine performance on our Leeward portfolio. Job Summary This position provides support for wind turbine operations in the Leeward portfolio of wind projects. The primary responsibility is to improve overall wind turbine operating performance and enhance safety for all personnel on Leeward sites. The role focuses on two core areas: safety improvement and turbine performance enhancement. Responsibilities Be knowledgeable on Leeward safety policies and procedures. Identify safety risks and exposures by performing site safety audits and working with site technicians. Perform safety compliance audits and interface routinely with site technicians to understand daily work challenges and propose improvement plans as needed. Perform turbine QA/QC inspections and generate reports. Evaluate wind turbine performance and identify issues. Participate with operations, data analytics, and engineering to understand and improve turbine performance. Evaluate solutions for wind turbine technical issues identified at the wind farms, including reliability and performance improvements. Manage wind turbine performance improvement projects. Analyze, summarize and communicate findings regularly with Leeward management team. Assist in the development of turbine performance improvement programs and a formal QA/QC program. Qualifications 3-5 years of relevant technical experience; wind power generation experience preferred. Associate’s degree in Industrial Health or related field (or equivalent work experience). Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate with technicians and management. Strong focus, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Self‑motivated with demonstrated ability to manage audits and inspections. Ability to manage priorities in a complex, dynamic environment. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle. Turbine climbing and related safety certifications. Fundamental understanding of mechanical and electrical systems of a wind turbine. Fundamental operation of a wind turbine. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, wiring diagrams, and other common specifications. Physical Demands Ability to perform tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing at project locations to inspect and repair equipment or collect information. Requires climbing and working in wind turbines, including confined spaces and working at heights. Willingness and ability to travel at least 50%. Periodic lifting up to twenty pounds.
