Job Description

Location: Southfield, Michigan (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM (flexibility may be available)

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable, professional, and detail-oriented Part-Time Legal Assistant to join our growing legal team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys client interaction, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has prior experience working in a law firm setting. Experience in personal injury law is strongly preferred.

The Legal Assistant will serve as a key point of contact for clients, assisting with intake, answering questions, gathering information, and supporting attorneys with administrative and case-related tasks. This is an onsite position that offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team that embraces innovative legal technology and AI-driven processes.

Responsibilities:

Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
Assist current and prospective clients by gathering information and addressing routine inquiries
Welcome and assist walk-in clients
Support attorneys and staff with administrative and case management tasks
Review and organize client information and documentation
Maintain accurate records and client files
Assist with client intake and follow-up communications
Utilize legal technology and AI-based tools to support case preparation and workflow efficiency

Qualifications

Prior legal assistant, legal secretary, or law firm experience required
Personal injury experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work independently
Comfortable learning and using technology platforms
Interest in or experience working with AI tools is a plus
