Our client is an industry leader and one of the largest food and food service distribution companies in North America. It delivers national and proprietary branded food and food-related products to independent and national chain restaurants, quick-service eateries, pizzerias, theaters, schools, hotels, healthcare facilities and other institutions via its distribution centers across the United States.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Warehouse Selector to join our client’s team. This position is responsible for selecting cases and other containers of food and non-foods products to fill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems.
Job Description
- Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines. Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
- Review work schedule, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
- Perform a safety check on pallet jack/forklift to be used and insure that all other safety devices are functioning properly.
- Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
- Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
- Assigning and entering work out in the system and to the Selectors
- Mapping and plaquing the work orders for that day's delivery
- Managing the warehouse desk and communicating information to the floor
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- Requires working in the cooler/freezer area
- Experience with material handling, palletizing, and moving completed orders using an electric pallet jack or forklift.
- Ability to wrap, label, stage, and prepare orders for shipment in a timely manner while following safety regulations and quality standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to support production operations and perform assigned duties as needed.
Additional requirements
- Sunday start time 10 am to until the job is completed
Monday thru Thursday 12pm to until the job is completed
Pay rate
- $21.50 (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.)
