Employment Opportunity Special Education Case Manager Caprock Academy is seeking a Special Education Case Manager K-6. Caprock Academy is a public, tuition-free school chartered by the Colorado Charter School Institute and utilizes the timeless principles of classically oriented education. As a person integral to Caprock Academy's team, the Special Education Case Manager will maintain the integrity of, advocate for, and facilitate the implementation of Caprock Academy's Vision, Mission, and Core Values of character, accountability and academics. Caprock Academy follows the Core Knowledge© curriculum in grades K-8. This curriculum encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education. The curriculum is characterized by content-rich instruction, cumulative knowledge, content-specific lessons, and coherent sequencing. The foundation of our academics are rooted in classical education philosophy and pedagogy, following the grammar, logic and rhetoric trivium. The school's mission is to help all students achieve their highest academic and character potential using proven, accelerated academic programs while providing a safe environment. The Special Education Case Manager shall report to and is accountable to the Director of Support Services and Head of School. FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Salary Exempt EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, full-time WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week PAY RANGE: Hiring Salary $46,000 depending on experience and education REPORTS TO: Director of Support Services/Head of School
Requirements Essential Duties: Working with families and the Special Education team to schedule and manage IEP meetings Working with all stakeholders in the development of student IEPs Managing and monitoring IEP implementation for all students on the caseload Compliance oversight The case manager will maintain positive, supportive relationships with parents, students and the special education team The case manager will monitor and ensure compliance with all school, district and state regulations. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution with a valid state teaching license and highly qualified content knowledge. Hold a Colorado Department of Education issued Special Education Generalist or Special Education Specialist license; or hold a Colorado Elementary Education teaching license and willing to enroll in an alternative teacher licensure program or an accredited Colorado university special education program. Familiarity with Federal, State and CSI guidelines for special education and 504 Expertise with a wide range of standardized and informal assessment procedures including progress monitoring tools Expertise with research-based instructional programs and strategies Knowledge of research-based academic and behavioral interventions Ability to effectively communicate effectively in oral and written form Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team members Required Documentation Application Current Resume Three Letters of Recommendation (including email addresses and phone numbers) Post-Secondary Transcripts (photocopy will suffice) Required Upon Hiring Complete Love & Logic program training Other trainings as required Benefits: Enrollment in Colorado's Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) including employer contributions Health, dental, vision, employer-paid life insurance Earned PTO (complies with Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act) EEO Statement Caprock Academy is an EEO employer.
