CDL-A Driver Utility Pole Handling and Delivery ($2,500 Sign On Bonus!)

Our  Logistics division provides a variety of services to utility companies around the region. We are often called upon to transport important material to support America’s energy infrastructure. 

Position Overview:  This role involves handling and delivering utility poles throughout Auburn, Maine and surrounding areas with home-daily routes and a consistent, stable schedule. Potential need to cross the border into Canada, although driver can apply for enhanced license after hire and be reimbursed by the company. 

Responsibilities:

• Haul utility poles to and from job sites in compliance with all DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues, performing preventative maintenance.
• Interact with dispatchers to plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Engage with customers and contractors.
• Abide by electronic logging device regulations.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods, etc.), as well as company policies and procedures.
• During emergencies or storms, be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
• Overtime available.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations.
• Accomplish all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to drive CMV with a manual transmission is required.
• Valid and Clean Maine CDL, Class A.
• Ability to pass and maintain a current DOT physical.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant driving experience.
• No lifting or physical restrictions.
• Solid knowledge of DOT regulations and load securement requirements.
• Effective and respectful communication with the public and clients.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather.
• Demonstrate safe and proper use and maintenance of all company tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
• Stamina to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise tasks.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
• Good vision, including close-up and peripheral vision, for detailed inspections.
• Hearing ability to diagnose engine and equipment noises.

Compensation:

• $30.00-$35.00 per hour based on experience.
