CNC Operator

As CNC Operator, under minimal supervision, responsibility may include but are not limited to set up and operating CNC controlled fabrication equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met to satisfy customer requirements and coach peers/provide guidance as necessary.Reporting directly to the Supervisor, this position is based in Parsons, Tennessee*.Major Accountability:SafetyQualityProductivityKey Tasks & Responsibilities:Read and interpret job order, diagrams, and/or blueprints to select, position, and secure machinery and materialsEnter computer commands to retrieve stored parts data and graphic displays such as simulated patterns or templates and displays manipulates part images on computer screen into optimum arrangement. Utilize FANUC for programming basic geometry cut patterns.Calculates and codes machine controlling criteria such as table movement, type and size of cutting and punching tools; tool location and machine start point; speed and work holder location.Works with programmers to troubleshoot, solve and discuss programing of machine.Inspect product to ensure conformance to quality, engineering standards, and customer requirementsLoad, unload, lift, and move materials and product utilizing lifting equipment when availableComplete and maintain all associated electronic processes and paperwork (including but not limited to bar-coding, checklists, stamping, blueprints, shipping/receiving documents, accessory lists, and scanning of materials)Perform pre-shift preventative maintenanceMaintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standardsFabricate specialty/custom component partsPerform duties in accordance with current Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and Manitowoc Code of Conduct requirementsActively participate in safety training and demonstrate competency by effectively resolving safety issues or bringing them to the attention of management3-5 years’ experience required in Construction and/or ManufacturingAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAdvanced math and reading comprehension skillsAbility to read tape measureBasic ability to read, speak, and understand English languageIn depth knowledge of the product and fabricationAbility to demonstrate safe and effective operation of all required equipmentStand and walk on concrete up to 100% of work dayAbility to bend, stoop, kneel, crouchLift and carry up to 50 lbs. alone and over 50 lbs. with assistanceAbility to climb and balanceAbility to visually inspect productsAbility to use hands to reach and to handle or feelManual dexterity in hands for tool usageWork in non-temperature-controlled environmentsAbility to wear all required personal protective equipmentOur Benefits:We believe that our people are one of our most valuable assets.
