Job Requisition ID #22WD63216Position OverviewAre you looking for a high energy team where you can make a direct contribution to Autodesk’s digital business transformation, bringing in engineering practices to an IT organization? We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a background in Cloud Based Infrastructure on AWSto join our team. You will be playing a key role in the build out of a new service-oriented platform to host our service’s APIs. This is an individual contributor role but has a substantial level of influence and responsibility.The Business Platforms Engineering TeamThe Business Platforms Engineering teams are chartered with the plan & build phases of a wide portfolio of software and applications supporting Autodesk’s business, human capital, and finance activities. With our business model transformation underway (moving from selling perpetual software licenses to cloud-based subscription services), we are making substantial investments in Cloud Based Finance Toolsets, Big Data and Enterprise Data Management.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build and support monitoring and observability tools and policies Work with operations teams to ensure their applications and services are highly available and performantDevelopment infrastructure as code that will perform at scale Write code that is tested, readable and maintainable Perform code reviews, evaluate implementations, and provide feedback for tool improvements Engage in technical and architectural discussions and decision making Collaborate with stakeholders and translate business objectives into technical strategiesAutomate processes where possible and propose new tools when needed Cross-train and mentor teammates Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems Minimum QualificationsHands-on software development experience in NodeJS Experience implementing unit and integration tests 4+ years of production experience in large-scale cloud-based Infrastructure (AWS preferred) Experience with monitoring and logging tools - Prometheus, Grafana, StatsD, Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, or New Relic Customer-facing and service-oriented person Understanding and curiosity of DevOps best practices, architectures, and methods Ability to create applications on AWS – Step functions, DynamoDB, IAM, EC2, CloudWatch and Lambda Understanding of cloud-native application design Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/ECS environments Experience with configuration management tools and cloud automation - Terraform, Chef Experience defining, building, and working with common CI/CD processes and tools - Jenkins, Spinnaker Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently Team player with excellent communication skills Preferred QualificationsSolid experience with Relational and NoSQL database technologies - MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB Experience with Agile software development practices Experience consuming, designing, and implementing REST APIs Good understanding of networking and security concepts The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have experience developing products and systems in AWS and be well versed in modern resiliency and observability practices. A thorough understanding of modern cloud-based software development and release practices including CI/CD is essential.
