Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Franklin, WI — onsite
About the Company
Lee Mechanical is one of Southeast Wisconsin's established MEPF contractors, supporting hundreds of employees and complex commercial/industrial projects. Its accounting organization focuses on accurate financial information, dependable deadlines and keeping the financial side of construction projects running smoothly.
Role Summary
The Accounts Receivable Specialist owns AR responsibilities for assigned departments and joins an existing AR team member. This role is particularly well suited to someone who understands construction billing, AIA processes, retainage and collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable for assigned departments.
- Prepare and process customer invoices.
- Handle AIA billing documentation.
- Track project retainage.
- Monitor outstanding receivables.
- Perform collections and customer follow-up.
- Reconcile account discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate customer/project records.
- Coordinate billing issues with internal project teams.
- Process AR activity through Spectrum Viewpoint.
- Support month-end AR reporting and deadlines.
- Maintain organized billing documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years relevant office/accounting experience.
- Accounts receivable experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Collections experience.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Ability to work onsite in Franklin.
- Strong communication and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction-industry AR experience.
- AIA billing experience.
- Retainage experience.
- Spectrum Viewpoint experience.
- Experience supporting project-based accounting.

- Accurate, timely invoicing.
- Reduced aged receivables.
- Effective collection follow-up.
- Accurate AIA/retainage documentation.
- Reliable ownership of assigned departmental AR.
