The Central Supply Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments and endoscopes to ensure patient safety and operational efficiency. This role requires flexibility to assist across multiple service lines and adaptability to varying unit needs. Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and other medical devices according to established protocols.
- Operate sterilization equipment, including steam autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in decontamination processes, maintaining strict infection control practices.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to support procedural readiness and equipment integrity.
- Document sterilization cycles, maintenance, and equipment-related activities thoroughly.
- Adapt to unit needs by floating across service lines such as robotics, general surgery, cardiovascular, ENT, orthopedics, neuro, urology, plastics, and others.
- Hold CRCST (HSPA) certification; additional certifications like CER, CIS, or CHL are a plus.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in sterile processing, including recent case pick and sterilization with diverse surgical instruments.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Decontamination, Prep and Pack, Steam sterilization, Low temperature sterilization, and endoscope reprocessing.
- Be experienced with Service Lines including Robotics, General, Cardiac, ENT, Neuro, Orthopedics, Urology, Plastics, and Loaners.
- Familiar with Olympus scopes, washer systems, loaner trays, and Da Vinci Robot Xi.
- Have reliable transportation, with knowledge of handling various instrument sets and processing times.
