Electrical Engineer I

Position DescriptionPerforms a variety of simple engineering duties to design, plan, and oversee the design and development of electric/electronic devices and systems applied to new or existing products. Evaluates progress and results of projects.Job ResponsibilitiesDesigns and troubleshoots electrical/electronic assemblies and systemsConfirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing propertiesAdheres to new product development processes as it relates to Concept Analysis, Business Case, product development, pre-production and post launch stepsRecommends methods of manufacturing during the design of new products, design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studiesActs as a liaison between other departments as necessaryPerforms other duties as assignedJob Skills RequirementsKnowledge and use of electrical/electronic control circuits and systemsKnowledge of electrical/electronic components and their uses in various power systemsKnowledge of appropriate standards and regulationsKnowledge of applicable technologies and/or productsCommunication skills to explain designs and logic usedFluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or locationEducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related fieldExperience RequirementsMinimum of one year of relevant internship experiencePhysical & Environmental RequirementsBriggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
