Job Description COMMERCIAL HVAC INSTALL HELPER Location: Raleigh, NC and surrounding project sites
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Pay: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Start Date: As soon as possible POSITION SUMMARY Hire Strategies is seeking a Commercial HVAC Install Helper for a growing HVAC contractor supporting commercial construction projects. This position will assist experienced installers with equipment placement, ductwork, tubing, piping, basic electrical work, and full HVAC system installations. The right person is dependable, comfortable using HVAC tools, and ready to work safely on active construction sites. This is a long-term temp-to-hire opportunity with a steady daytime schedule and room to grow with the company. PAY STRUCTURE
• $20.00 to $23.00 per hour for candidates with 3 to 5 years of relevant HVAC or commercial construction experience
• $18.00 to $19.00 per hour for candidates with less experience who have basic HVAC or construction knowledge and the required tools RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assisting with the installation of commercial HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, tubing, supports, and system components
• Measuring, cutting, fitting, positioning, and securing materials according to installer instructions
• Using drills, impact drivers, nut drivers, tubing cutters, aviation snips, pliers, and other HVAC tools
• Assisting with basic wiring, equipment connections, and component installation under the direction of an experienced installer
• Loading, unloading, organizing, and staging tools, equipment, and materials at project sites
• Helping position HVAC equipment and preparing installed components for inspection, testing, or startup
• Following job specifications, measurements, safety procedures, and instructions from the lead installer
• Keeping work areas clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards
• Reporting equipment problems, damaged materials, or installation concerns to the supervisor
• Arriving on time and completing assigned work within the project schedule QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous HVAC, mechanical, construction, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance experience
• Commercial HVAC installation experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of HVAC tools, equipment, and installation practices
• Ability to take accurate measurements and use a tape measure and level
• Comfortable working with sheet metal, tubing, piping, wiring, and mechanical components
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently after receiving direction
• Reliable transportation to commercial project sites
• Dependable attendance and availability Monday through Friday
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in active construction environments
• OSHA 10 or EPA 608 certification is helpful but not required REQUIRED TOOLS Candidates must have access to the following basic HVAC tools:
• Drill and impact driver
• Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
• 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch nut drivers for the drill and impact driver
• Adjustable wrench
• Needle-nose pliers
• Lineman's pliers
• Wire strippers
• Aviation snips
• Tubing cutter
• Folding utility knife with spare blades
• Tape measure
