Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while embracing the Select Medical Way and core values. This includes prioritizing patient and employee safety as a key organizational result.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Create individualized care plans based on assessment data.
• Provide patient education and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure the quality of care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies.
• Contribute positively to unit function and team building.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs.
• Assume charge responsibilities following orientation as requested.
• Actively pursue professional growth and development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required for specific units prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.

Schedule

This position is for a Night Shift with a schedule of 3x12.0 hours.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
