Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support sterile preparation and compounding of infusion medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role will assist with medication preparation, patient supply and equipment assembly, pharmacy cleaning and maintenance, and quality control activities.

Sterile compounding and clean room experience are required.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare infusion-related medications using proper sterile compounding and aseptic techniques
• Follow appropriate hand hygiene and garbing procedures
• Complete compounding logs, supply assembly records and cleaning documentation
• Assemble patient supplies and equipment
• Clean and maintain pharmacy work areas and equipment
• Follow infection prevention and contamination control procedures
• Identify and report potential contamination or safety concerns
• Handle hazardous drugs according to applicable procedures, when required
• Participate in quality control and performance improvement activities
• Work closely with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Registered with the State Board of Pharmacy, if applicable
• Previous sterile compounding experience required
• Clean room experience required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
• Formal pharmacy technician training
• Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of USP standards
• Experience with sterile or hazardous drug compounding

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
• Frequent computer and keyboard use
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing more than 40 pounds
