Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, primarily basic studies and stress tests, in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves managing a daily caseload of 5-12 patients, ensuring accurate imaging and patient care. The technologist must maintain certifications and licenses, collaborate with clinical teams, and adhere to facility protocols while providing high-quality diagnostic services. Responsibilities:

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including stress tests and basic studies.
• Manage and coordinate a daily caseload of 5-12 patients efficiently and safely.
• Prepare patients and equipment for imaging studies ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to optimize diagnostic outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information in accordance with hospital policies.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and radiation safety regulations.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
• Respond to weekend call requirements as scheduled.

• Valid California State License for Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in nuclear medicine technology or related field; first-time technologists are accepted.
• Ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures safely and accurately.

• Experience working in an acute care hospital environment.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work variable start times and weekend shifts.

• Weekend call is required as part of the role.
• All requested Return to Office (RTO) days must be submitted with application; approval is based on facility needs.
• Facility may call off one shift per two weeks despite guaranteed hours.
• Shift start times vary between 0600 and 0730 daily.
• Work environment includes acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds.

• 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (4x10hr days).
• Variable shift start times between 0600 and 0730.
• Weekend shifts and call responsibilities are part of the schedule.
