Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with travel experience and Draeger vent proficiency for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level II Trauma, acute care hospital within the Yale New Haven Health System.

Job Details

• Work in a 426-bed short-term acute care hospital that is part of the Yale New Haven Health System,
• Unit rotation includes all areas of the hospital, including NICU and Pediatric units, based on census and staffing needs,
• Charting is performed in Epic (required),
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM,
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed,
• Floating between the main campus and Milford campus is required,
• NICU experience is preferred but not required,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience; a minimum of 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience is required,
• Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred,
• Acute care hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience required,
• Prior travel experience required (no sub-13-week contracts),
• Draeger ventilator experience required,
• Active CRT or RRT credential required,
• CT state license required if applicable - license takes 15-21 business days to issue; candidates must apply prior to consideration,
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CRT or RRT,
• Preferred certifications: CPFT, NRP, PALS,
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible,
• 1 professional reference required for consideration,
• Prior employees must have been away from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple hospital units, including adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric units,
• Travelers may be asked to orient students or new hires as needed,
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed,
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted,
• COVID vaccine exemptions are accepted for religious or medical reasons only,
• Non-billable orientation modules must be completed prior to start and annually,
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO requests must be finalized before offer acceptance - no additional RTO will be approved after acceptance,
• Free parking is available on-site
