At NSN Solutions, we keep the aviation industry moving. We are a trusted leader in the distribution and precision manufacturing of high-quality aircraft spare parts. Serving commercial, defense, and general aviation clients worldwide, we pride ourselves on safety, traceability, and precision in every part we manufacture and deliver.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Quality Control (QC) & Inventory Inspector to join our team at our Broadview Heights office. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for verifying the quality, traceability, and compliance of distributed and internally manufactured aviation components—including ITAR-protected defense articles—as well as maintaining accurate inventory management and organization within our warehouse.

Note: This is strictly an in-office, on-site position based at our Broadview Heights, OH facility. Remote applicants or requests for remote work arrangements will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Distribution & Receiving QC (Including ITAR Defense Articles)

  • Perform incoming receiving inspection on raw materials, hardware, and finished aircraft spare parts—including ITAR-regulated defense items—for condition, correct quantity, and proper packaging.
  • Verify documentation and traceability, including FAA 8130-3 forms, EASA Form 1s, Certificates of Conformity (CoC), and material test reports.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with customer purchase orders and aerospace shipping standards.

Manufacturing QC

  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
  • Conduct in-process and final dimensional inspections of machined and fabricated aircraft parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM).
  • Verify parts against blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Monitor, track, and log inventory movements within the warehouse using our ERP system to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits; resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all stored inventory is stored safely, properly labeled, organized, and segregated by part numbers, condition, and shelf-life requirements (e.g., shelf-life controlled materials like sealants/adhesives).
  • Maintain strict traceability control on serialized parts, lot numbers, and location tracking within the stockroom.

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Identify, document, and quarantine non-conforming materials; issue and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Maintain calibration records for tooling and inspection equipment.
  • Ensure full adherence to FAA regulations, ISO 9001 / AS9100 / AS9120 quality standards, ITAR/EAR compliance protocols, and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Work Location: Must be able to reliably commute to our Broadview Heights, OH office daily. (Remote work is not available for this position).
  • ITAR / Export Compliance (Required): Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to strict federal ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) compliance mandates governing the inspection and handling of defense-related hardware and technical data.
  • Experience: 3+ years of Quality Control inspection and warehouse/inventory management experience in the aerospace or aviation industry required.
  • Inventory Control Skills: Hands-on experience with inventory control processes, cycle counting, shelf-life management, and stockroom organization.
  • ERP Proficiency: Experience using ERP/WMS/MRP systems for inventory tracking and part logging.
  • Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with AS9100 / AS9120 quality management systems and AS9102 First Article Inspection process.
  • Aviation Documentation: In-depth knowledge of aviation documentation (e.g., FAA Form 8130-3, Certificate of Conformance, material certifications).
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, height gauges); experience with CMM or FARO arm is a plus.
  • Certifications (Preferred): FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, APICS/CPIM inventory certification, or ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is highly desirable.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, safely operate warehouse handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) as needed, and spend significant time on the warehouse floor standing or moving.
