Job Description The Automotive Technician II is a mid‑level technician responsible for delivering high‑quality maintenance and repair services for fleet vehicles. The role emphasizes exceptional customer satisfaction while ensuring cost‑effective service delivery. Technicians may work independently or collaboratively within a team environment. Compensation Hourly base pay: $24.23 – $36.35 per hour. The rate may vary within this range based on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record Minimum 3 years of vehicle service and repair experience Experience operating both standard and automatic transmission vehicles Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (tools and equipment) Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance services, including oil changes; oil, fuel, and transmission filter replacements; transmission flushes; inspections for mechanical deficiencies Execute light repairs based on inspection findings Perform repairs and maintenance based on certification level, including OBD II systems, brake systems, tire services, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lift systems, electrical systems, state safety inspections, interior and exterior components, engine and drivetrain components Maintain and repair equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations Assist with more complex repairs and advanced diagnostics as needed Perform moderate fabrication tasks, including equipment design, welding and custom modifications Troubleshoot and repair specialized fleet systems, including hydraulic systems, generators, electrical systems, hybrid vehicle systems, and onboard computer systems Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of customer service experience Ability to obtain minimum four (4) ASE certifications within 18 months of employment Ongoing commitment to training and development to maintain ASE certifications and stay current with evolving automotive technologies Drug Testing To be employed in this role you must clear a pre‑employment drug test.
