About the Position

Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Imaging Specialty: MRI Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 3x12 Third Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Friday to Sunday) Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience, including 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience License: MR License from the appropriate regulatory body Certifications: BLS, ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Certification Must-Have: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Great interpersonal skills. Excellent eye-hand coordination. Attention to detail. Exceptional customer service skills. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Description: Provides health care services applying pulsed radio-frequency waves and magnetic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Participates in an on-call schedule as required. Performs magnetic resonance procedures and computer processing related techniques, producing images for interpretation. Exhibits professional judgment and maintains a demeanor that aligns with medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care, ensuring successful completion of exams or procedures. Enforces hospital policies and maintains departmental efficiency and proficiency. Maintains a cohesive working relationship and spirit of cooperation with coworkers and other employees. Sets a positive example through professional knowledge, appearance, conduct, and interactions. Maintains a professional environment through cleanliness and orderliness. Plans and executes daily patient flow proactively. Assists in the selection, training, and competency assessment of staff. Collaborates with management to establish protocols. Participates in training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols. Provides supervision to imaging students during clinical rotations. Produces quality images for review. Prepares copies of images and records image releases in electronic health records. Verifies images are archived properly and notifies personnel of any issues. Sends images to tele-radiology services as instructed. Works on accreditation processes as needed. Assists in the selection of equipment and software as required. Orders and restocks supplies and linens. Reports equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. Addresses environmental safety concerns. Collaborates on changes needed for the electronic health record. Manages physical and financial resources within established guidelines. Completes quality control tasks for assigned rooms. Stays updated on regulatory standards and changes. Verifies orders and patient information. Documents MRI screening questions and implant information in the electronic health record. Performs peripheral venipuncture when necessary for exams. Documents all incidents related to patient care appropriately. Follows department protocols for all exams. Works with transportation and nursing units to coordinate exams. Continuously monitors patients throughout exams. Provides post-processing for exams as per protocol. Ensures compliance with MRI safety regulations. Assists healthcare providers with exams and procedures as necessary.
