Location: Durham, NC Job Id: 389 # of Openings: 1 Lincoln Community Health Center, Inc., a federally qualified health center (FQHC) serving the Durham County community for more than 55 years, is currently seeking a Risk Management Director to join our Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will be an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) or a Registered Nurse. The position is responsible for managing the Risk Management Program, Infection Control and Joint Commission Coordination, as well as overseeing the Occupational Health Program. Previous experience in Risk Management or Infection Control is desired; additional coursework in Infection Control is preferred. We seek applicants with strong leadership, mission focus, and excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Attention to detail and computer skills are required. POSITION SUMMARY
Perform a variety of administrative and clinical responsibilities to manage the Center’s Risk Management Program, including but not limited to Occupational Health, Infection Control, Environment of Care, and Joint Commission Readiness. The role involves training activities, promoting health and safety to all employees by facilitating the Employee Health Program (disease prevention, detection, and treatment). The occupational health nurse educates staff on infection control practices and procedures. As the Joint Commission Champion, the Director coordinates all Joint Commission preparation activities and updates. The position handles ordering clinical supplies and equipment, maintenance, and training.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of scope of practice for Registered Nurses and ability to operate within this scope. Understanding and applying the nursing process. Ability to seek resources independently and collaborate. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, health care teams, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others. Competent in BLS and Instructor certification. Proficient use of computers and ability to learn new software. Document and communicate information using computer and/or paper documentation tools. Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions. Ability to multi‑task while remaining focused and organized.EDUCATION
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with additional coursework in Risk Management and Infection Control.EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in nursing.OTHER REQUIREMENTS / MISCELLANEOUS
Current North Carolina licensure as a registered nurse. BLS certification.MISSION
