Test Engineer II

As a Test Engineer II at Honeywell, you will test the Niagara Framework and related embedded controllers across a variety of configurations. You will build new test fixtures, perform root‑cause analysis of device failures, execute test plans and procedures, and work closely with cross‑functional teams to define test requirements and analyze results. You will report to an Engineering Manager responsible for Tridium’s Test and Tools Team and work out of our Richmond, VA location on an on‑site schedule. Responsibilities Build test fixtures to test building controllers and related products Validate key building protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.) Build test fixtures utilizing knowledge of physical wiring practices for 24 V AC/DC power, RS-485, Ethernet, etc. Execute test plans and procedures to validate product performance and reliability Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and refine test requirements and specifications Analyze test data and provide actionable recommendations for product improvements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) Minimum of 3 years of experience in test engineering or related roles Minimum of 2 years of building controls experience (Niagara Framework or similar) Experience with hardware and software integration testing techniques Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams and adapt to changing priorities Continuous learning mindset and passion for innovation Preferred Qualifications Advanced degrees such as a Master’s in Engineering or related fields Experience deploying and validating building control systems Experience with the Niagara Framework Strong knowledge of test methodologies and tools with experience executing test plans Proficiency in using test automation tools and data analysis software to evaluate product performance and reliability Salary Annual base salary range: $83,200.00 – $104,100.00.
