CNC Machine Operator

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a CNC Set Up Operator in partnership with a prominent client in the Endicott, NY area.? This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and/ or Mills in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. A strong attention to detail, ability to read blueprints, and experience working in a cellular manufacturing setup are essential.

CNC Set Up Operator Job Duties:?

• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine proper cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates.??

• Demonstrate working knowledge of feeds, speeds, and proper cutting tool applications.

• Operate machinery safely and report any safety hazards, machine malfunctions, or equipment issues immediately.

• Start and set up machines based on set up sheets, ensuring you are checking displays to detect any malfunctions.??

• Mount and align cutting tools.

• Change cutting tools, make necessary machine adjustments, and measure parts to ensure conformance to blueprints.

• Perform in-process inspections and ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.

• Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, and sketches to execute machining plans.

• Maintain the ability to operate multiple machines in a cellular manufacturing environment.

• Enter commands to create, retrieve, and store programs in machine computer memory.

• Generate or edit part programs to optimize production efficiency, cost, and quality.

• Review orders and drawings to determine specifications.??

• Monitor machine functions, such as cutting depth, feed rate, and coolant flow, to ensure quality and prevent damage.??

• Load and unload parts, ensuring correct orientation of the product.?

• Stop machine and adjust settings and tools as needed to maintain accuracy and optimal cutting conditions.??

• Regularly inspect workpieces using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.??

• Accurately complete all required production documentation, including counts, scrap, and time logs.

• Guide and assist other employees in machine operation and setup when needed.

• Perform machine maintenance as required.??

• High School Diploma/GED?

• 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent education/training.?

• Ability to set up and operate CNC machines and related equipment.?

• Always demonstrates good machining practices.?

• Proficient in performing the most complex setups.?

• Capable of training General Operators to run machines as needed.?

• 2+ years of industry experience?

• Experience with tight tolerances and precise measurement?
