Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking an Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic and related gastrointestinal procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The Endoscopy RN is responsible for pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care, including patient assessment, preparation, monitoring, and recovery, while ensuring comfort, safety, and high-quality clinical outcomes.

Working collaboratively with gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary team members, you will safely administer and monitor moderate sedation as permitted, manage IV therapy, verify informed consent, and support physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), ERCPs, and other advanced endoscopic interventions. You will maintain strict adherence to infection prevention standards, equipment cleaning and high-level disinfection protocols, and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse will triage and prioritize cases, manage procedure room flow, and respond effectively to changes in patient condition, including recognizing and escalating signs of complications such as bleeding, perforation, or adverse reactions to sedation. You will educate patients and families regarding procedures, pre- and post-procedure instructions, medications, and follow-up care, promoting understanding and adherence to individualized care plans.
