Position Overview and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-focused care tailored to the specific needs of the department, adhering to the standards and practices relevant to the state and specialty. Working alongside medical professionals and other care team members, the RN provides personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care by utilizing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

• Administers procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of care in the patient’s medical record.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care, simplifying complex medical terminology for better understanding.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on non-medical follow-up strategies, including healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management techniques.
• Implements evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives to surpass quality benchmarks and enhance the exceptional care provided to patients.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the quality of care by coordinating, assessing, customizing, and delivering a holistic treatment plan that fosters recovery.

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
