About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in LDRP License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, NRP Must-Have: Must have 1 year of LDRP experience within the last 3 years. Must be comfortable caring for antepartum, intrapartum, and post-partum patients. Must have triage experience. Must be comfortable circulating and recovering C-sections. Preference for prior travel experience. Description: The unit has 12 LDRP beds and 1 C-section room. The unit experiences approximately 300 births per year. The staffing ratios are 1:1 for labor patients and 1:2-3 for couplets. RNs may be required to titrate drips such as Pitocin and Magnesium. Scheduling is conducted by leadership for six-week periods. Travelers are expected to be flexible and assist with permanent scheduling gaps. All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment. Weekend requirements include 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule. May be asked to participate in holiday rotations. Call or standby requirements are rare and occur during low census situations. Floating within specified zones may occur only in extreme need situations. Scrubs will be provided in the specified color for the department. The unit may handle overflow mastectomy patients occasionally. Travelers will receive orientation for managing these patients. Cancellation of shifts may occur up to four times during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. The position does not require a BSN. This is an acute care setting in a Trauma Level 3 facility.
