As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will help individuals achieve their fullest potential by promoting independence, health, safety, dignity, and community inclusion.Through trauma-informed care, skill development, and individualized support, DSPs assist individuals in achieving goals identified in their Individual Service Plans (ISP), Individual Habilitation Plans (IHP), and other person-centered planning documents.Resources for Human Development (RHD) provides residential and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism. Through person-centered supports, we help individuals build independence, strengthen community connections, and achieve their personal goals in a safe and supportive environment.What You'll DoAs a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:Assist individuals with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, household maintenance, laundry, shopping, and community participation.Support individuals in developing skills necessary to increase independence and maximize quality of life.Encourage individuals to achieve personal goals and reach their fullest potential.Promote self-determination, choice, community inclusion, and meaningful relationships.Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and person-centered environment.Implement Individual Service Plans (ISP), Individual Habilitation Plans (IHP), Behavior Support Plans (BSP), and other clinically relevant supports.Monitor progress toward individual goals and maintain accurate, timely documentation.Utilize trauma-informed interventions and respond appropriately to crisis situations.Assist with medication administration and medication documentation as authorized and trained.Provide transportation to appointments, employment programs, educational activities, recreational opportunities, family visits, religious services, and other approved destinations.Work collaboratively with Residential Managers, Lead DSPs, families, guardians, clinicians, support coordinators, and community providers.Who We're Looking ForYou may be a great fit if you are:Compassionate, dependable, patient, team-oriented, service-focused, professional, respectful, committed to helping others.QualificationsRequired• High School Diploma or equivalent.• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.• Valid non-provisional driver's license with acceptable driving record required.• Ability to meet all licensing, screening, and regulatory requirements.Preferred• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or mental illness.• Direct support, healthcare, human services, residential, or community-based experience.Additional Requirements• Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and agency policies and procedures.• Observe HIPAA requirements and maintain confidentiality of protected information.• Successfully complete and maintain all required trainings, including CPR, First Aid, medication administration, and other assigned certifications.• Comply with Department of Developmental Services (DDS) requirements and applicable state regulations.• Attend all required trainings, meetings, competency reviews, and professional development activities.• Maintain knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogens, Right-To-Know, Security Procedures, Fire and Safety Regulations, and Emergency Preparedness Procedures.• Complete all required Human Resources documentation and accurately document time worked.• Maintain a professional demeanor and exercise sound judgment in all employment duties.Schedule• Variable schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage as needed.• Work schedules are subject to change based on business needs.• Flexibility in working hours and work locations may be required.Physical Requirements• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout the workday.• Ability to assist individuals with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities.• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more.• Ability to safely operate agency vehicles and passenger vans.• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Apply TodaySome jobs pay the bills.
