Custodian II

Custodian IIPerforms custodial work required for the upkeep of buildings. Wet/dust mops floors, scrubs shower stall walls/floors, fixtures and similar equipment, replacing shower curtains, and replenishing supplies as needed. Sweeps/shovels snow from all exterior steps, patios, terraces up to main walk. Removes rubbish and recyclables to storage and then to sidewalk for pick up. Makes beds in dormitories and prepares room for occupancy. Writes Service Orders for all damages, malfunctions, repairs and informs supervisor of same.Positions available on the 3rd Shift – 11:00pm-7:00amThis position is classified as on-site.Job Qualifications and Competencies:Six months' related experience or demonstrated ability to perform custodial dutiesMust be able to read and interpret written instructions, service orders, and labels on chemical suppliesMust be physically able to lift and carry 50 pounds unassistedMust be able to climb and work from ladders at heights up to 12 feetMust be able to walk throughout campus and to climb stairs through the duration of the shiftMust be able to use buffing machines, extractors and associated equipmentMay require Animal Care Facility program certification as necessary.All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and pre-employment screenings.Recruiting Start Date: 2025-07-29Benefits of Working at Brown: Please review additional information on the Benefits of Working at Brown.Still Have Questions?
