The instructor will teach a range of CNA courses, including Didactic, Labs, and Clinical experiences, catering to students with varied academic and career goals. Responsibilities include developing, revising, and delivering course materials aligned with college standards, assessing student performance, and maintaining and contributing to the program accreditation requirements in alignment with Wyoming Department of Health and the Wyoming State Nursing Board. CNA faculty are required to manage learning environments such as, but not limited to, classroom, testing, competency demonstration, laboratory practice, clinical experiences, and others in support of students meeting learning outcomes, competencies, and providing academic support to help students succeed. The instructor must demonstrate a deep commitment to fostering student success through engagement in departmental activities and staying current in the fields of teaching and nursing through professional development. In addition to classroom teaching in varied environments, the CNA Instructor will actively participate in student engagement activities such as recruitment, on-campus events and activities, and academic support initiatives. The instructor will contribute to the continuous improvement of the institution by collaborating with colleagues across the College on curriculum development, program assessment, community building, and student success strategies. The instructor role also involves institutional service, including participation on committees, involvement in accreditation processes, and collaboration on departmental projects. In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations governing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) programs and healthcare facilities. Knowledge of clinical procedures, including vital signs, personal care, mobility assistance, and documentation standards. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements. Physical/Mental Demands While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities. There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor. An employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution. 2 years’ experience as an RN with 1 year in long term care. License/Certification: Current, unencumbered, Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multi-state compact nursing license that includes the state of Wyoming or an active Wyoming license or the ability to obtain a Wyoming license. Completion of a program that focused on how to train/teach adults, experience in adult education or supervision of CNAs OR the ability to attain completion of a program that focuses on how to train/teach adults, experience in adult education or supervision of CNAs within the first year of hire. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Experience with web-based learning management systems. Two or more years of college-level teaching experience.
