Position Summary and Qualifications

The Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing the daily operations and staffing of the unit/department. This role involves monitoring and evaluating nursing care delivery in line with established policies and procedures, while holding staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes that align with facility goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a superior clinical environment by implementing evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and quality outcomes, while ensuring compliance with care standards.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in a productive manner.
• Encourage interdepartmental collaboration and teamwork through a supportive approach.
• Ensure staff adherence to policies, mandatory requirements, and licensure and certification standards.
• Achieve performance goals and objectives as outlined in the Performance Management Plan.
• Establish orientation and annual competency criteria for staff, ensuring successful completion.
• Identify and implement strategic management initiatives.
• Respond promptly to inquiries or follow-ups regarding physician, staff, or patient matters.

Qualifications Required:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Tennessee or a compact state is required.
• An Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Experience in acute care or hospital nursing leadership is essential.
• Current Fetal Monitoring certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be acquired within 30 days of hire.
• Neonate Resuscitation certification is required within 6 months of hire.

Our 100-bed facility provides comprehensive medical care for both adults and children, including emergency services, surgical procedures, and various other healthcare offerings.
