UPMC is excited to welcome an Sr. Professional Staff Nurse (RN), Outpatient to our Woodward Associates Ob/Gyn team/office in Hummelstown !


This full-time role offers a consistent Monday-Friday, daylight schedule from 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm -No Weekends or Holidays required!


25% Travel between offices may be required to assist additional offices (other offices located in Hershey and Lemoyne).


About the Role: The Senior Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and an integral member of the care delivery team, responsible for setting standards for the level and quality of nursing care. In this role, the Senior Professional Staff Nurse maintains responsibility, authority, and accountability for the delivery of patient-centered care. The nurse manages and coordinates care for a designated group of patients and their families, applying independent clinical judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. This role involves building and sustaining collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes across the continuum of care. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse also demonstrates a strong commitment to the nursing profession, professional practice, and the community served.

• Actively participates in practice- or department-specific quality improvement initiatives, identifies opportunities for improvement, and takes personal responsibility for enhancing patient satisfaction and service excellence.
• Utilizes research and evidence-based practice to support high-quality clinical care and contributes to ongoing advancements in the specialty area.

Qualifications:

The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below. They must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Prior Outpatient Clinic and Women's Ob/Gyn experience preferred!
• UPMC approved national certification OR master's degree or higher in Nursing required.
• UPMC Professional Contribution required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • UPMC Professional Contribution required CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
• Act 34

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
