The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing existing production equipment in a Manufacturing/Food Environment.**Key Duties and Responsibilities*** Completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment* Handling basic repairs and maintenance.* Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance to correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity and/or quality standards.* Repairing machines and equipment, as necessary.* Preventing unexpected machine breakdowns.* Control downtime by communicating with all departments.* Maintain equipment, parts and supplies, conserve resources when able.* Prepare maintenance reports, document, and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.* Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.* Understand how to use measuring equipment.* Ability to breakdown, repair, rebuild, and troubleshoot Production Machines.* Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools.* Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment, and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures.* Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement* Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors.**Essential to this Position*** 1st Shift - Working 10-hour Shifts Monday through Thursday* Many advancement opportunities!**Education & Experience*** Education Desired - High School Diploma or Equivalent**Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired*** Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.* Ability to effectively work in teams.* Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.* Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.* Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills.* Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions.* Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job.**Physical Requirements & Work Environment*** Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting.* Frequent standing/walking required.* Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.*All Menasha Packaging employees must conduct their work in a manner that complies with all legal standards and meets customer expectations.
