Program Manager

Program Manager Location: Schaumburg, IL. Wage: $110,000 – $140,000. Responsibilities Manage the project and project team while contributing to the project scope and objectives and ensuring all program and project tasks are completed. Provide a communication interface to customers for project status, schedule, and requirements. Lead project teams across multiple sites during product development, coordinating internal and external suppliers for on‑time completion. Schedule and conduct internal team meetings to address action items and keep projects on schedule. Communicate timely to management regarding resource requirements to maintain schedule. Define product specifications and project scope to align with market/customer needs and drive development. Ensure financial objectives are met, including capital request creation, product costing, and scope creep management. Make decisions to accelerate the process and optimize time to market, volume, and profitability. Create and maintain program schedules regularly. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Perform capacity planning throughout project phases to meet expected NPI demand. Provide regular program updates to functional management. Set up systems for ordering and manufacturing of products. Manage and reduce risks, developing alternatives with risk reduction tools. Lead innovation/technology development projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. +8 years of experience managing high‑complexity, cross‑functional programs with direct customer engagement (connector industry preferred). Proficiency with project management software, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Skills Read, analyze, and interpret technical product drawings and procedures. Write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Present information effectively and respond to questions from various management levels. Manage customer communication and expectations. Solve practical problems with limited standardization. Interpret diverse instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Communicate and collaborate with teams in multiple regions worldwide. Operate with minimal supervision while providing status updates on issues and resolutions.
