Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years minimum required License: Valid state or compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Conscious sedation - Ventilator management - Telemetry Description: This is a first-time traveler position for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The role requires two years of experience. Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The estimated patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3. Skills required include management of conscious sedation, ventilator care, and telemetry. Experience with the electronic medical record system is necessary. The unit is high acuity and fast-paced. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses in the unit include respiratory failure, stroke, renal failure, and COVID-19. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The unit has 19 beds and has a daily patient census of approximately 18. Candidates must complete all credentialing requirements promptly. References from two professionals are required, including at least one from a managerial position. Education must be from an accredited nursing program.
