Whiskey Club Manager

Job Description:

Redwood Empire Whiskey is looking for an entrepreneurial, community-minded Whiskey Club Manager to help turn our Homeplace into one of the most compelling destinations for whiskey lovers in California.

This role will sit at the intersection of community, hospitality, brand experience & commercial growth, with the Redwood Empire Whiskey Club at the heart of the consumer relationship.

The Whiskey Club Manager will own the development & management of the Whiskey Club - including proposition, branding, structure, member experience, acquisition, retention & KPIs - while also leading the broader Homeplace experience and calendar.

This includes tours and tastings, whiskey education, VIP experiences, consumer & trade events & private / third-party paid events. The role will also build the community and fuel the digital engine that drives traffic, membership, attendance & advocacy.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can move comfortably between strategy & execution, hospitality & marketing, community building & commercial performance.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is equal parts community builder, hospitality leader, marketer, sales person & entrepreneur.

You will ideally bring:

Experience in hospitality, experiential marketing, events or a related field.

A genuine passion for whiskey / adult beverage and the culture surrounding it.

A natural ability to build relationships, create experiences & bring people together.

Strong commercial instincts & experience managing against revenue targets.

Demonstrated experience developing & executing events from concept through to delivery.

Strong understanding of digital, CRM & consumer acquisition.

Excellent organizational & project management skills.

The ability to develop strategy while remaining highly hands-on in execution.

A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset — someone who sees opportunities & makes things happen.

The confidence and personality to represent Redwood Empire publicly & build relationships with consumers, trade, partners & the local community.

The ability to work cross-functionally while also being comfortable operating independently.

Exceptional attention to detail & a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.

The Whiskey Club Manager will be the Face of Redwood Empire at the Homeplace!

Represent Redwood Empire with authenticity, warmth & expert-level brand knowledge.

Serve as a key point of contact for Homeplace guests, Club members & visiting partners.

Lead VIP experiences for trade, media, whiskey societies, influencers, retailers, distributors, etc.

Coordinate & host distillery visits, meetings and presentations for sales partners and other stakeholders.

Work closely with Sales to ensure key customer visits & experiences are professionally planned & executed.

Manage the guest experience from initial inquiry through visit & follow-up.

Develop relationships with whiskey societies, enthusiast communities, tourism & other groups that can drive awareness & visitation.

Manage special trade & consumer experiences such as vetted single-barrel pick opportunities in collaboration with the Sales team.

Ensure every guest leaves with a stronger connection to Redwood Empire.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, the Whiskey Club Manager will have:

Established a clear & compelling Redwood Empire Whiskey Club proposition & tiered operating model.

Built a measurable engine for membership acquisition, engagement & retention.

Created a compelling 12-month Homeplace experience calendar.

Developed a strong portfolio of tours, tastings, educational programs & VIP experiences.

Established a consistent rhythm of consumer, Club, trade & third-party events.

Delivered against agreed Homeplace traffic, membership, engagement & revenue targets.

Built a strong network of local community, hospitality, trade & event partners.

Established Redwood Empire's Homeplace as a destination within Mare Island, Vallejo and the wider Bay Area.

Ultimately, this person will help make Redwood Empire more than a whiskey people drink. They will help make it a community people want to belong to - and a Homeplace they want to come back to!
