This is a clerical MA role. Primary responsibilities include registration, referrals, and other clerical tasks. At Advanced Primary Care, we specialize in patients who are 65+ with multiple chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, heart failure and COPD. Join our multidisciplinary team consisting of physicians, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, social workers and MAs. We collaborate together to deliver innovative and quality care.

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Serves as a subject matter expert in the practice. Trains new staff. Performs a variety of medically related and clinical tasks by assisting providers in providing direct patient care. May perform moderately complex procedures within scope of certification. Responsibilities may include surgical and procedural scheduling or panel management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
